Hello,

We are Enrique and Cheryl Vargas.  We have three wonderful children and a very supportive Grandma.  In 2001, my wife and I decided to put our resources together and established Executive Carpet Care, Inc.  This took many months of preparation and hard work.  To better serve our clients, we decided to split the business responsibilities.  Cheryl would focus on bookkeeping while I focus on providing the best quality cleaning as possible.

Prior to establishing Executive Carpet Care, Inc. I worked as a preschool teacher for eight years and then as a telecommunication technician and Internal Auditor for over five years and then as a Sanitation Supervisor for a frozen food company.  I also worked as a carpet cleaner for well known high quality cleaning service.  The carpet cleaning company I used to work for provided high end cleaning.  Here is were I got most of my experience.  The rest I got it through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration classes.  Unfortunately, the carpet cleaning company went bankrupt due to an aggressive national expansion plan they could not keep up with and because of serious internal upper management differences.
My education & certificates:  Originally my major was in computer science, but after 2 semesters working on a mainframe (No real PC’s back then), I switched to attaining a preschool teacher’s credentials.  Along with my teacher’s credentials, I have been trained and certified by the American Society for Quality.  For those who are familiar with this type of certification, you know that being certified by such a prestigious organization is no easy task and in matter of fact many fail the final exam.  Some compare it to passing the BAR.  I also hold an IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration) certificate as Carpet Cleaning Technician, and IICRC certificate as Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician.

Why carpet & upholstery cleaning?
I came to realize that I'm happiest doing physical work, working with the public and meeting new people.  But at first, I thought that carpet & upholstery cleaning would be a piece of cake to master.  Boy, was I mistaken.  Don't get me wrong---you don't have to be a genius to be successful in this business. Nevertheless, there is quite a bit of technical info to wade through, and experience to be gained before you can confidently handle anything that comes your way.  I'm the type who likes to be 100% prepared for things like this and I'll do my homework and research like a detective.  I was surprised at how much I had to 'gear-up' and study for this, to include enrolling in certification courses.  (These courses are not mandatory, but highly recommended.)

Homeowners Need a Guy Like Me!
I decided to specialize in serving residential clients.  I wanted to provide the absolute best service where it's needed most: I noticed that there aren't any other cleaners (at least ones who advertise) who focus on this one area of the market. Seems that the rest of the companies try to 'do it all', presumably so as not to miss out on any opportunity for business.  That's fine, everyone has to put food on the table, but I saw that there was a need to cater specifically to homeowners and do it with a sincere dedication to quality and value-added service.
I realized that just by having the commitment to excellence that I have would put me head and shoulders above most of my fellow carpet and upholstery cleaning competitors.  It was at this point that I knew there was room in the market for a guy like me!
Carpet cleaning in Santa Rosa and Marin was the first quality service I performed.  Then, upholstery (or furniture) cleaning was added in Sonoma County.  Finally, I added professional tile and grout cleaning and sealing, deciding to serve any and all communities in Sonoma and Marin Counties.

It was at this point that I knew there was room in the market for a guy like me!
